Upon waking up on a cliffside with amnesia, Min wanders back into her hometown only to be met with open hostility and disdain. Many are happy to shun her, but no one is quite able or willing to answer:
What exactly is it that she has done?
Interview:
✧In one or two sentences, what is your game about?
Exile is, in part, about collective trauma and a small community's inability to move past it - partially out of a desire to protect themselves from further trauma. But what happens when someone attempts to break free of that mold to save themselves or others?
✧What was the inspiration of the game? What made your team decide to make this game specifically?
Initially all I knew was that I wanted to make something in RPGMaker, but somewhere in my early brainstorming a question popped into my head: what would be an action so horrible that an entire town would turn on the person who did it, but still be so taboo that none of them would be willing to talk about it in full? What kind of community would foster such a course of action? The answer I chose for the latter was "a deeply traumatized one".
✧Were there difficult moments when developing the game? What led to those difficult moments? What did you learn from it?
RPGMaker tends to... show its age quite a bit (MV was released in 2015, after all) and that subsequently led to me needing to adjust how certain things like cutscenes and character movement were implemented.
